Dan Simpson (Head of Investment Consulting, Willis Towers Watson)

Profile’s investment committee is constantly reviewing the best opportunities and investment strategies for our clients. This year, instead of presenting a fund manager we introduced our recently appointed asset consultant Willis Towers Watson (WTW).

WTW is a leading global advisory, broking and solutions company that helps clients around the world turn risk into a path for growth. With roots dating to 1828, WTW has 40,000 employees serving more than 140 countries.

Dan Simpson is the Head of Investment Consulting for Sydney. He is responsible for overseeing the Investment team in Sydney and advising a range of institutional clients on investment governance, asset allocation, as well as manager structure and selection.

Dan has 20 years of industry experience. Prior to joining Willis Towers Watson in 2004, Dan worked in various positions including as a business manager for an options arbitrage hedge fund and a foreign exchange financial controller for Deutsche Bank. Dan began his career in New Zealand and has since worked in major financial hubs such as Sydney, Hong Kong, London, and Frankfurt.

Dan gave some background on WTW, including their process as an asset consultant. He also provided some insight into their investment approach, their research capabilities and their overall philosophy.

Dan also outlined how WTW provides support to Profile’s investment committee allowing access to a wider range of resources in the decision-making process.
