The 2008 Profile Financial Services annual conference was held at Craigieburn Bowral.
The staff members caught a bus down Friday morning 4th July 2008 to Bowral and were kept busy on the bus with quizzes and a bag of goodies including lollies, a book and other bit’s and pieces. We spent the day reviewing the past year and setting goals for the next year with a special guest Big Dave to help take ourselves and the business from Good to Great as was the theme of the conference. We were joined by our partners that evening and after a quick round of speed chatting to get know some new staff additions and partners we enjoyed a lovely buffet dinner in the retreat bar.
The next day Big Dave arranged to do some indoor activites with the staff and partners to get know ourselves and each others personality types and work as teams in the different activites and then a buffet lunch in the restaurant. After lunch we did a couple more activites inside and were then whisked off on a bus and not told where we were going. When we reach our destination it was a for a scenic walk called the Sky Walk and it looked just as it sounds. It was a massive construction of bridges and a tower over 800m long and very high up over the tops of the trees. The view was amazing. As for the evening the attire was semi-formal and as we arrived at the Retreat function room. We also organised the dinner to double as Richard Harris’s farewell retirement dinner. No staff members knew it was announced to us just before we went in for dinner at the pre-dinner drinks. Of course Richard and Mary were not there at the time as they were on a limozine ride that Richard just so happened to win during that day. We had arranged for Richards family and friends to be there as well. When Richard and Mary arrived back from their limozine ride Garry took them down to the function room where everyone was waiting and boy were they surprised when they realized. Debbie Fowler had organised a slide show of pictures and music of Richard and his family which was very entertaining for everyone. There was a delicious a-la-carte meal, desert and a relaxing night for all.
On the last day some slept in after a big weekend and most made to breakfast before checking out. Some head home straight away and others again went to enjoy the surrounding area before heading back. It was a great weekend setting Profile Financial Service’s vision and getting to know the staff and their families on a more social level.
